Operating system
- Arch Linux
- Rolling release, current kernels, and the wiki is the best Linux documentation there is.
- systemd
- Units, timers and the journal for everything that should keep running.
Terminal & shell
- bash
- Available everywhere I SSH into, so it is what I write scripts in.
- tmux
- Sessions that survive dropped connections.
- ShellCheck
- Catches the quoting mistakes before production does.
Editor
Observability & debugging
- journalctl
- Structured logs with the unit, boot and time filters already built in.
- strace & perf
- For when the logs stop explaining what the process is doing.
- htop
- The first thing I open on an unfamiliar box.
This site
- Astro
- Static output, Markdown and MDX content collections, and no client framework.
- GitHub Pages
- Built and deployed by GitHub Actions on every push to main.
- Inter & JetBrains Mono
- Self-hosted at build time through Astro’s Fonts API.
